Here at SYSC, we aim to make the most of each warm day we have. Check our News & Events pages to find out what we are up to all summer long, as well as during the offseason. We’ll also post about class cancellations due to the pesky Wisconsin weather and additional events and classes we may offer throughout the spring, summer and fall.
Each year brings us new names, faces, and experiences we will always cherish, and 2023 was no different. Let's do a quick refresher on what made this one a year to remember!
We are extremely excited to announce the launch of our newest program - Support Our Sailors (S.O.S.)! For many years, it has been SYSC's goal to provide a place where young people from all backgrounds can gather to sail, live, and learn together.
It was another great fall season for high school sailing here at SYSC, and our first fall semester as a co-ed Varsity team at Sheboygan North High School. There were 20 members this semester, with sailors hailing from North High School, Urban Middle School and Kohler High School.
This week, many of our race team sailors had the opportunity to sail in the Area K US Sailing Junior Championships Qualifier that was hosted on our own Sheboygan Lakefront. We would especially like to congratulate Doug Wake, Noah Bartelt, and Ashley English on qualifying for the Sears Cup finals in North Cape!
SYSC is excited to announce that we have many new staff members with us this summer! They will be teaching our youth classes and are eager to be working with the sailors this summer. To learn more about them, head to our "Instructors" page, or click here.
A large group of SYSC sailors and staff showed their pride for America and SYSC in Sheboygan’s 4th of July Parade last Wednesday. We greatly appreciate everyone who volunteered to help decorate the float or walk in the parade and those who donated candy! The staff had a relaxing week off of classes enjoying the beautiful weather, but now it’s back to work.
